About The GoodFish Program
We have had to shut down this economic-incentives
program because of
persistent losses that increased rapidly after the 9/11 terrorist attack and
its aftermath. The basic explanation is that we started an importing and
wholesale business limited to cyanide-free aquarium fish and we were
unable to
obtain enough support from retail fish dealers or philanthropic
foundations
to offset the higher costs of restricting our business to only
net-caught
aquarium fish. As a result, we've had to close the wholesale
business,
but we are still working to find ways to reduce the profitability
of fish
